- Once you have gotten your peer-reviewed statements back, we will need to make final corrections to our statements and blurbs. Make any and all corrections that are relevant to your work — keep in mind that some suggestions may not coincide with what you are actually trying to say, so read and review with a critical eye.
- After you have made your corrections, reread both your long statement and blurb out loud. Listen for parts that are difficult to read or that sound awkward when they are said aloud, and make corrections.
- Once your statements are complete, print a copy of both, and take them to the Writing Center to have proofread. Make sure to explain what the purpose is of the statements, and specify what you want them to proofread for. If you only want to have them proofread for spelling and grammar, that is fine. You may also ask them to read for clarity and/or consistency of message, but it is again up to you.
- Before you finalize your statement, make sure that the layout and style are similar to your résumé. Use the same fonts, colors and design elements so that all of your printable documents are cohesive.
- Finally, you will need to upload your statement to your website. On either your homepage or your ‘Artist Statement’ page, add your blurb. Then, upload a PDF of your long statement and include a link to download it from the ‘Artist Statement’ page.
- You must have your final statement ready to download from your website by no later than 5:00pm — at that time I will download statements from each student’s website.
