Fashion Show

We will be holding a fashion show of our interview attire (must be at least business casual). If you are working with a small budget, know that we have an awesome Goodwill in Buckhannon, and you can likely find some great pieces for your outfit there.

At the fashion show, we will invite other students and faculty. The faculty will take notes and provide constructive feedback.

WhatNotToWear

Find Out The Company Culture

Before the interview, find out the dressing culture of the concerned organization. Either, ask someone you know from the company or call up the receptionist or Human Resources to know more about the dressing style adopted by it. Even if an organization has a very casual outfit for decorum, you still need to be in your formal attire for the scheduled interview date.

Keep a Back Up

When you buy a new interview outfit, add a few more to your shopping list for dressing up according to the requirement of different industries. Even if you are up for a single interview, have a few more outfits at hand in case they call you for a second or third interview.

Outfit Must Be Tailored and Dry Cleaned

Buying an expensive interview outfit is not all. You should tailor it perfectly so that it exactly fits without sagging at the shoulders or shirt sleeves going beyond the finger tips. Have it dry cleaned and test for fitting before the scheduled date.

Shoes Are Important

You may be dressed up perfectly from head to toe, but if your shoes are uncomfortable for you or you are not used to wearing those type, it will mar your entire appearance. Men need to make sure their shoes are polished and women should make it a point not to wear high heels if they are not comfortable in them. All in all interview shoes should be ones which cover your toes.

Avoid Perfumes

There might be someone in the interview panel who is allergic to perfumes. They might get irritated if the perfume you have put on is particularly pungent to them. So, avoid these mistakes.
