Exercise: Weather Walk

What are we doing?

Go for a walk seven days in a row and document your experience of the weather using all your senses.

Why are we doing it?

Long durational walks build patience and expand awareness over time. Changes in weather can be subtle or severe, heightening sensory experiences.

How are we doing it?

  1. Select a 10-minute route and a time of day you can walk for seven days in a row. Be safe.
  2. As you’re walking, think about all your senses. You will record your reflections after the walk each day.
  3. Diligently record your sensory impressions of the weather after each walk. This could be written, audio or video recordings, or other approaches.
  4. Be ready to share your archive and discuss your overall personal experience of the weather with the group.
