Crit 03

Be prepared to give a brief introduction to your work / concept, and then receive feedback from the critique audience.

Step 1: Bring Work

For this critique, each student is required to bring work to class. The work should be to the level explained in the reflection from our first critique.

Step 2: Introduction (3 minutes)

When it is your turn during the critique, you will have 3 minutes to introduce your work. You should explain your goal, concept and audience. At 3 minutes I will tell you to stop.

Step 3: Critique (10 minutes)

After your introduction, the floor will be opened for 10 minutes for feedback. During this critique, you will receive feedback from the audience — bring a notebook / paper and writing utensil with you to take notes.

Step 4: Reflection / Plan

After class, write a brief reflection, addressing the concerns / feedback given. Then, explain — in detail — what you will complete for the next critique/final exhibit (submitted on Blackboard). REMEMBER: ALL WORKS ARE DUE BY CRIT 04. Make sure to explain the size, media and subject / content of the works. For example: “I will exhibit 5, 3′ x 6′ graphite drawings on panels. The drawings will be of cats in hilarious situations, and will be drawn in a realistic manner.”
