Before rushing into this project, we’ll look at a useful coding tool from Arduino called Reference. The Arduino IDE (Integrated Development Environment) has a built-in reference book that provides explanations for most of Arduino’s features. This is an extremely valuable tool to help you learn about the Arduino and its code. Let’s see how to use it.

Open Arduino on your computer. Click on Help > Reference. Arduino Reference opens in a browser. Take a few minutes to look at the various sections and click on a few links to see how to navigate among the various terms.

Arduino has a very helpful feature that allows you to highlight a word and then see if you can find it automatically in the reference. For example, in a sample program, highlight a term (such as “pinMode”). Click Help > Find in Reference. The Arduino Reference opens on the entry for the term in a browser.



Everyone will also be required to transform their ‘spaceship interface’ into an original creation using the same technology. For example:
