We will create two 3D printed projects via SketchUp and Shapeways printing company.

The first project will be just to get the hang of the process, and the 3D printed object can be anything you like (keep in mind costs go up depending on the size and the material you choose to print in).

The second project will be a model of something from your proposed utopia – it will accompany a manifesto you will write based on your answers to the Utopia Questions. Both the manifesto and the 3D printed model will be presented in our final exhibition in the Corner Gallery.

PROJECT 1: (see schedule for exact dates)
– Create sketch of your item in SketchUp
– Present sketch to class for feedback
– Make any necessary changes
– Check each other’s sketches for errors
– Make any necessary changes
– Order the item on Shapeways
– Forward email receipt to Ellen for credit
